The Shirtwaist Factory
The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York City was located on 23-29 Washington Place in the Asch Building also known as the "Brown Building." Owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris it was one of the largest blouse maker companies in the City. Occupying the 8th, 9th and 10th floor of the Asch Building, they employed as many as 500 workers, mostly young women and immigrants (greenhorns). Better paying than the sweatshops, it was a sought after job and woman flocked to it. Exploiting there workers with long hours, and low wages Blanck and Harris became rich.
